Our demand: Keep the College Football Playoff at 12 teams, and reject the proposed expansion to 24 teams.

College football is unlike any other sport. Every Saturday matters. Rivalries matter. Tailgates matter. Traditions matter. The pressure of a regular season in which any loss can change a team's championship hopes is part of what makes college football so special for fans all across the country.

Expanding the playoff to 24 teams risks changing that identity.

We firmly believe that a 12-team or 16-team playoff offers meaningful access to a national championship while preserving the importance of the regular season.

We ask the College Football Playoff leadership, conference commissioners, university presidents, and athletic directors to:

Reject the proposed 24-team playoff format. And limit expansion plans to 16 teams maximum.

Retain the 12-team format while the long term effects of playoff expansion are re-evaluated.

Publicly explain how further expansion would affect regular-season competition, conference championships, bowl games, and player welfare.

Give fans a meaningful opportunity to express their views before any major format change is approved.

This is bigger than any one school or conference. We are fans of different teams, but we share a belief that college football's regular season should remain meaningful from beginning to end.
