Hello petitioners --
Last evening, 17th December, 2024, the Auburn City Council unanimously voted against annexing the Jolly Property into Auburn on the basis that it was in a low priority area for annexation, located as it is on the edge of the city's optimal growth boundary, and because of the limited city services available to support further growth in that area. Consequently, the need to vote on the rezoning request to add a conservation overlay on the Jolly Property went away and no vote was taken on that.
For now, we have succeeded in thwarting the developer from using the conservation overlay to skirt rural zoning rules in their quest build high-density housing in a low-density rural area.
THANK YOU to everyone who signed this petition. Your efforts mattered. You made a difference.
