Dear Signers,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the overwhelming support you showed for Principal Moore over the past 24 hours. Your response was a powerful testament to the kind of leader he is and the community he has built at East Whittier Middle School.

We have spoken directly with Mr. Moore, and out of deep respect for his wishes, we are pausing this petition effective immediately.

Mr. Moore has asked us to stand down, assuring us that the decision to leave was his, and we will honor that — because respecting him means respecting his wishes, even when it is hard.

What this community showed in such a short time was extraordinary. The love, the loyalty, and the willingness to show up for someone who has always shown up for our kids — that is who we are. And that is something no one can take away.

We, the undersigned parents, students, teachers, community members, and partners of East Whittier Middle School, are calling on the East Whittier School Board to reverse the reassignment of Principal Moore and return him to the school community he has faithfully served.

We were told that Mr. Moore chose to accept this reassignment.    We know this is not the full truth.   Mr. Moore was handed a narrative and asked to deliver it publicly- placed in the impossible position of announcing a decision that was not his own.  He did so with the professionalism and loyalty that has defined his entire tenure at this school.  We will not let that loyalty be used against him.  

Principal Moore is not just an administrator. He is an advocate. He has championed our students, stood beside our teachers, and strengthened the programs — including our award-winning music program — that make East Whittier Middle School exceptional. He is respected, trusted, and deeply valued by everyone who knows this school.

Teachers count on a principal who has their back. Students thrive under leadership that believes in them and is present. Our community has that in Mr. Moore — and losing him without honest explanation is a loss none of us should have to accept.

Removing a principal of his caliber — without transparency, without community input, and without honest explanation — is a disservice to our students, our teachers, and a breach of the trust this community has placed in its elected school board.

We are asking the East Whittier School Board to:

•  Reinstate Principal Moore at EWMS immediately
• Provide a full and transparent explanation of the circumstances surrounding his reassignment
• Commit to meaningful community engagement before making leadership decisions that affect our school

Our students deserve stable, passionate leadership. Our teachers deserve a champion in their corner. Our community deserves honesty. Mr. Moore deserves better- and we will not stay silent.
