Hi everyone, you may have seen that Mr. Delaney was out of office for a few days; he's back in today, so if you're able to give him a call today to talk about the dog park, it would be a great time! You can reach him at 952-233-9345. If you want to reach Kristi McNutt, the Director of Parks & Rec, you can call City Hall at 952-233-9500 and ask to be directed to her. She is very receptive and helpful!

I'd like to update you all about the dog park. I had the opportunity to hear from one of the engineers responsible for the design of the park, and she was checking the park's drainage. Turns out it's draining perfectly, which we all already clocked! She's shocked the city wants to close the park for the winter due to drainage concerns, so will be telling her team and personally speaking to Mr. Delaney and the committee responsible for the decision, as she worked with them on this project. A reminder that the reason given for closing the park was twofold: poor drainage, and dogs stepping on frozen grass and breaking it. (I know, everyone is as confused as you are when hearing that.)

I am sure we can keep this awesome dog park open all year. Today I'm sending in the petition, and I hope you'll all keep updating, commenting, and posting videos, especially of your adorable dogs! Yes, please post videos and pictures in the petition comments! What heart isn't moved by those great big eyes?
