Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition! Passing 4,100 signatures, just under 9% of a typical home attendance, is a tremendous achievement and shows this issue matters deeply to many Sunderland supporters.

Farage recently said he no longer intends to attend a Sunderland match "for now" because it might cause another "hate mob on Twitter", but he still plans to meet representatives of various clubs, including Sunderland, at some point. In saying this, Farage portrayed legitimate, democratic opposition to him exploiting football clubs for political gain as hateful. It's especially offensive given the racism-related concerns discussed in the petition. However, I'm very grateful for your help in stopping him from visiting Sunderland, even if not forever.

Given the requests for comment from journalists and the petition itself, it's deeply disappointing that the club continues to refuse to clarify the situation. I hope they will soon. Moreover, a poll on the Ready To Go fan forum showed overwhelming opposition, with over 78% of respondents stating Farage should definitely not receive an invitation to visit the club. Finally, I'd like to express my commiserations to everyone else who was at the Forest match last Friday. At least we saw a few goals!

If you can, please keep sharing the petition to help it reach even more fans. Thank you again for all your support!
