As an impressionable pre-teen and teenager a motivational and inspirational teacher who inspires the masses is worth more than gold. 

Mr Allen, the current band and guitar teacher at Baird Middle School in Ludlow MA is being forcibly transferred to the elementary school. He will be “swapped” with the elementary school music teacher to instruct 4th and 5th grade band and general music. No clear reasons that make sense have been given for this move. Mr Allen’s expertise at the middle school level and solid extra curricular provisions have made him an asset to Baird and the middle school student population. He is a well loved teacher who has gained quite the following over the years due to his passion, character and charisma. 

Students at Baird will lose after school help, after school Jazz Band club and the years of experience Mr Allen possess to ready students Western District try outs. 

Every single one of his students is INVESTED in this, in Mr Allen, in the entire experience he provides these kids.

In addition to signing this petition if you have a child in the Ludlow MA Public School system that will be affected by this future change please write the interim superintendent and the school committee. Attending the school committee meeting on Tuesday June 14th is also incredibly important! 

Please help keep Mr Allen at Baird! Maintain the excellence and experience that exists at this level. Keep the current opportunities available to these middle school students. This change is detrimental and we need to speak up because it’s not okay!
