Dear supporters:
As you know, we've just wrapped a successful campaign against the use of the McDonald's "540 Meals" film in schools. But even as we're celebrating our victory, there are many other ways in which McDonald's tries to get its brand in front of impressionable school kids.
Next week, a group of concerned parents and other citizens will be traveling to Oak Brook, IL, where they'll attending the McDonald's annual shareholder meeting on May 26th. At the meeting, they're going to demand an end to "McTeacher's Nights" - a program that requires teachers "work" at a local McDonald's and encourage their students to eat junk food. (A coalition representing over 3 million teachers has already signed an open letter strongly opposing these fundraisers: http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2015/10/15/448960665/mcteachers-nights-teachers-unions-say-no-to-school-fundraisers).
You can help these concerned parents and other citizens by signing the petition below from the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood. They more signatures they have by the May 26th shareholder meeting, the more compelling their case will be, so please be sure to both sign and share the link with friends on social media.
Thank you, as always, for standing up for children's health!
