I’ve been going to the Logan Metro Fitness Centre for years, and it’s more than just a gym to many of us. It’s a vital part of our community where friendships are built, achievements are celebrated, and our health is nurtured. Recently, however, the tender process for the management of our beloved gym closed, and since then, there's been silence from the Logan City Council regarding the outcome.

This lack of communication has left members in the dark about what’s next, and it’s worrisome. We rely on this gym not just as a place to exercise, but as an affordable and inclusive haven where everyone feels welcome, regardless of background or ability. It supports our wellbeing and keeps us connected.

We turn to Logan City Council to address our community's concerns and ensure the future of the gym remains accessible to all. Transparency is crucial in this transitioning phase, and we respectfully urge the Council to open a line of communication with its members. We want to remain informed about changes to management and what these changes mean for us.

Moreover, keeping membership costs affordable and maintaining a variety of classes that cater to all fitness levels and interests is essential. We believe the gym should continue its mission to serve our community's health and social needs, best achieved through actively involving its patrons in discussions about its future.
