KEEP LOGAN CIRCLE OPEN

KEEP LOGAN CIRCLE OPEN
The Issue
Every day, I witness the role Logan Circle plays in our community here in Washington, D.C. After enduring months of cold winter, like many others, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of April and May to be outdoors, enjoy the fresh air, and experience the community that Logan Circle provides.
Unfortunately, recent plans to make “D.C. safe and beautiful” will restrict access to Logan Circle during these crucial spring months. Our parks and open spaces are more crucial than ever, providing necessary respite and connection for community members (and for dogs!!).
We understand that park maintenance and improvements can necessitate temporary closures, but managing these in a way that minimizes impact on community use is vital. By enacting phased maintenance (closing one quarter of the park at a time?) or designating alternative green spaces during closure periods, we can keep Logan Circle available when it's needed most.
We urge the authorities overseeing Logan Circle to recognize its value during April and May and find solutions that balance necessary upkeep with community access. Please sign this petition to help keep Logan Circle at least PARTIALLY open and accessible during the spring months and ensure it continues to serve the people of D.C. who so deeply depend on it. Let's protect our cherished space and keep our community connected.
