As of today, Monday 27th May, Lambton Pool has closed, and will stay this way until it reopens in late August.... but our work is far from over.

Whilst the 2024 seasonal closure going ahead is a disappointment to us all, our petition has attracted over 1000 signatures! This gives us a powerful collective voice to bring to ongoing talks with the City of Newcastle Council and Bluefit about the management of Lambton pool, now and into the future.

There are many sensible suggestions to be made, such as operating at reduced hours and calls to invest in extisting heating technologies at lambton pool to make year round access more viable, as seen in a number of comparable facilities in other council areas, particularly Charlestown Swim Centre. 

Your support of this petition means that when we speak with the Newcastle Council, it is not just one person, but over 1000 voices calling for the Council to Keep Lambton Pool Open!

So don't lose hope! Your support makes a difference, and the more signatures this petition attracts as people begin to feel the impacts of the seasonal closures, the more power we have to motivate change with the decisionmakers within the Newcastle Council and Bluefit.
