Also, last saturday the 11th May, NBN news aired a segment about our petition, which you can view here.

This segment highlighted the significance of this petition to our community, and also included a response from the City of Newcastle Council declaring intentions to start consultation with the community near the end of 2024 with regards to potential addition of an indoor facility at Lambton Pool.

Any investment in the improvement or expansion of the facilities at Lambton Pool is a welcome one, however, we want a solution now to meet the growing demand for year round facilities in Newcastle. 

To Keep Lambton Pool Open is a more timely and cost effective solution to the issue our community is facing right now: we have nowhere to go when Lambton closes! We don't want promises that things will maybe get better in some distant future, we want practical solutions to be implemented now!

It is time for the City of Newcastle to have its own year-round facility and not palm this off to private pools or entirely different council areas.

We know that it is easy and reasonable to Keep Lambton Pool Open, so keep having those conversations, keep sharing this petition on your social media, and lets get to over 1000 signatures!
