We have just been notified that effective immediately, Lisa Mars is no longer the principal of LaGuardia High School. It has been a long six years, but finally the DOE has realized that she is the wrong person to preside over an art school of this caliber. We are grateful to everyone who supported our efforts, particularly Superintendent Vivian Orlen for her thoughtful leadership through this difficult time. We are confident that she will shepherd the DOE toward the right principal for the school, one who will return the focus to talent rather than tests.
