Hi Everyone,

My petition now has over 3,700 signatures. But we need A LOT more in order to put pressure on Congress.

In just a few months, the federal government is going to force the students of Dysart High School and other nearby schools to navigate around an ICE detention center just to get to school. That's not okay. Every student deserves a safe path to school and I'm not stopping until we have one.

Since everything is moving so fast, I'm now on social media to keep everyone in the loop. This is where I’ll be giving updates on my meetings with lawmakers, upcoming events, where things stand, and next steps. I’m starting with zero followers, so please take a minute to follow me:

I will keep pushing forward until my proposal for a federal 3-mile safety buffer zone between ICE detention centers and K-12 schools is passed! Over the past month I've been meeting with lawmakers and making our voices heard:

• I met with the staff of Senator Mark Kelly, Senator Ruben Gallego, and Congressman Paul Gosar.
• I spoke at a press conference with Rep. Greg Stanton.
• I organized other student council members to attend Surprise City Council meetings.
• I spoke with Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes.
• This week, I have a meeting with Surprise Mayor Kevin Sartor.
