Diane Buckell started this petition to Toronto City Council and

High Park, Deeded by The Howards to the City in 1873

"It must be for the free use, benefit and enjoyment of all citizens"

High Park is 399 hilly acres; its many and varied venues are situated near the centre of the park; Allotment Gardens, Children’s Garden, Colborne Lodge, Dream in High Park, Grenadier Pond, Grenadier Restaurant, High Park Zoo, Hillside Gardens, Labyrinth, and sports facilities and pool, are all many steps from the entrance gates. Only the Forest School Nature Centre is close to Bloor St. entrance.

High Park is a 'destination park' and many visitors drive to enjoy a pleasant walk amongst trees, greenery and wildlife, and to visit the venues. With the park closed to cars, and very limited parking on local side streets, families may have to park up to 2-3k from the park itself and walk the pavements to reach the park, and once in the park must be able to walk 4-5km to enjoy the venues.

Please sign this petition to keep the park open to vehicles, and please say why you wish the park to stay open….

email Councillor Perks, 311 and the Deputy Mayor to let them know how you feel. Thank you.
