Keep funding for Utah ProStart

Keep funding for Utah ProStart
The Issue
Is there something that has changed your life so much that you can’t possibly imagine living without it? For me and hundreds of other students across the state of Utah, that thing is the ProStart program in Utah. For some, it has shown us what we want to do with our career and provided us with the resources to get there. For others, it has built connections that will last a lifetime. For all, it prepares us to be leaders and changemakers no matter the industry we go into.
ProStart is a two year industry backed program that allows students to gain real world experience in the food service and hospitality industries, gain industry credentials, learn from professionals, and prepare to be leaders no matter where life takes them. ProStart gives students a purpose while in high school, and for some it ignites a passion for food service.
The ProStart program has been instrumental in shaping futures and fostering passion among students eager to learn about the food service field. However, it goes beyond just education; it helps students develop essential soft skills like teamwork, communication, and leadership. These are abilities that benefit students throughout their lives, no matter the career paths they choose.
However, significant budget cuts threaten to diminish and damage the ProStart program in Utah. These funding reductions jeopardize the availability of the program to students looking to gain the education and opportunities that ProStart offers.
We need to advocate for sustained funding for ProStart to ensure that it can continue to inspire and educate the future workforce. By supporting ProStart, we are investing not only in the students but also in the broader food service industry.
Please sign this petition to urge decision-makers to restore and maintain funding for the ProStart program. Let us ensure that future students receive the same support and opportunities that have made a difference in so many lives. Help us remind our leaders of the program’s importance in shaping career paths and strengthening our industry's future.
P.S. When signing, it might ask you to donate, there is no need to do so. We are only trying to collect signatures.
