On May 6th, 2023, at Allen Premium Outlets in Allen, Texas, a mass shooting occurred ending the lives of 8 innocent civilians. 7 individuals were injured and are being treated. On Sunday, May 7th, 2023, threats were made against Frisco Independent School District and Allen Independent School District’s middle schools, which announced that the following day, there would be a shooting. On Sunday afternoon, FISD issued a statement that the threat was being investigated, and that student absences would be exempted throughout the district. Fortunately, the threat was contained and was not executed. Despite this, there continues to be multiple instances of possible terrorization to schools across Texas. We ask that you sign this petition in order to protect and ensure the safety of your child or family member throughout this week. The notion of even a slight chance should be taken seriously due to the significant events that took place over this past weekend. Now is the time to take action and defend our students. Sign this petition to keep adolescents safe this week, assuring that no blood is spilled in the schools that kids should feel safe in, and to help pass a gun control law/bill that requires background checks, a license for concealed weapons, and an age of at least 21 to purchase a semiautomatic firearm.
