Over 16,000 people have now signed this petition.

It has now been one week since Divine Playhouse was forced to close its doors. As the support continues to grow, Revelop can no longer ignore the community's demand for action. It's time to respond, stand by their tenant, and allow the venue to reopen.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore has added her voice to the growing support.

"At a time when Sydney has worked hard to rebuild its nightlife, we should be celebrating people willing to take on the challenge of building a cultural venue," she said. "This is not to suggest that people of faith should not be heard and respected. In a democratic society, everyone has the right to express their opinion peacefully. But disagreement should never become intimidation."

The Lord Mayor said the City of Sydney would offer further support should Revelop continue to side with the Christian group. “I have asked staff to investigate whether another space could be made available," she said.

"If we want to be a truly global city, we must stand with those who invest in culture, support independent venues, and defend both freedom of belief and freedom of creative expression."

Thank you to everyone who has signed so far. Please continue to share it over the weekend. Find out more about how you can further support Divine Playhouse HERE.

Love, Fran <3
