A Critical Moment for Carlos and His Family

We want to share a clear and honest update on where things stand.

Carlos was scheduled to report to CBSA on February 20, 2026, and while a request was made to delay removal, it was denied. Since then, the process has not moved forward due to administrative delays related to travel documentation. A new reporting date is expected, but has not yet been issued.

At the same time, multiple legal pathways are actively in motion:

A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) application has been submitted and is pending
A Humanitarian & Compassionate (H&C) application is also under review
The case has now reached the Federal Court of Canada, where the Department of Justice Canada has formally filed a Notice of Appearance — confirming that the judicial review process is underway
This is not the end of the road.
It is a live, active case.

However, the weight of this uncertainty is being felt — especially by the children.

In early March, their school identified emotional distress linked to the instability of the situation. A settlement worker is now involved, and the family is actively seeking counselling and community support to help them navigate this period.

There is also growing public awareness. A national Canadian media outlet has expressed interest in sharing their story — a reflection of how many people are beginning to recognize what is at stake here.

And that is the truth of it:

This is no longer just a petition.
This is a family in the middle of a system — still waiting, still fighting, still at risk.
