Dear supporter,
Thank you for signing the petition to Keep Campsfield Closed.
Tomorrow – Sunday 22nd June, on the final day of Refugee Week – we’re inviting all supporters to join a peaceful rally and solidarity walk.
12pm – Rally at the Campsfield gates (Langford Lane, Kidlington OX5 1RE)
One-mile walk (approx. 30 minutes) to Kidlington Methodist Church
2pm – Gathering at the church (Rear Hall) - refreshments and toilets available
If you’re not joining the walk, you are warmly welcome to come to the gates at 12pm and take part in the rally.
Please note: The walk may include uneven surfaces, so please wear comfortable shoes. Bring water and dress for the weather.
By bus:
- If you're travelling from Oxford, catch the S4 towards Banbury from Magdalen Street East at 11:25am. It stops at Langford Lane around 11:52–11:53am, just in time for the rally.
- If you prefer not to join the walk, you can take the S4 back from Langford Lane at 12:53pm or 1:53pm to Kidlington (Exeter Hall stop), just across the road from the church.
Just this week, the government published new details about its plans to reopen Campsfield:

The decision to reopen Campsfield ignores the clear objections of all the local democratic bodies who have spoken out against it — from Kidlington Parish Council to Oxfordshire County Council.

Let’s walk together to say: Keep Campsfield Closed.
Immigration detention is an abuse of human rights.
Can’t attend in person? You can still take action:
- Post on social media: let others know why this matters.
- Write to your MP: theyworkforyou.com
- Buy a T-shirt or print to support the campaign:

And one more thing:
Can you invite five friends to sign the petition?
If everyone who’s signed so far invited five more people, we’d reach nearly 10,000 signatures — a clear signal that our communities reject detention and demand sanctuary instead.
