Hi friends,
As supporters of this campaign, we want to make sure you're aware of tomorrow's demonstration. It starts at midday outside the Campsfield gates on Langford Lane, Kidlington (OX5 1RE) this Saturday, 30th November, and we’d love you to join us!
The demonstration, organised by the Coalition to Keep Campsfield Closed, comes as the government faces growing opposition to its plans to reopen the detention centre.
Local councils, including Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council, have called on the Home Secretary to abandon this backward step. Local MPs like Calum Miller and Layla Moran are also standing against the reopening.
What’s happening at the demo?
- We’ll hear from inspiring speakers from Oxford and further afield.
- Afterward, we’ll head to Exeter Hall (OX5 1AB) for refreshments and a chance to connect.
Campsfield closed in 2018 after years of protests, and we’re determined to keep it that way. Bring your banners, your friends, and your voice.
Getting there: The S7 bus from Oxford city centre (Magdalen Street, Stop C4) will take you straight to Langford Lane.
Let’s make this count. See you there!
