All,
As we approach the planning committee which will have a real impact on these spaces I thought it might be wise to share a few thoughts that the local residents have been talking about. Please remember that you can submit a statement to the committee and it will be passed to the members of the committee.
If you are planning on sending a comment in to the planning committee about the applications for the green or the Pring St Hill site, please remember to email it to democratic services:
democratic.services@bristol.gov.uk
Please be aware that that have brought the deadline forward for the receipt of comments to noon on Monday 3rd of June - even if you have received a letter or a flyer that says Tuesday (we have been in touch with them about this).
IF YOU SUBMITTED A COMMENT TO THE COMMITTEE IN APRIL YOU WILL NEEED TO SUBMIT IT AGAIN TO THIS COMMITTEE
Several of us are going to the meeting to speak, so please come and join us but remember to tell them you want to speak when you submit your email.
If you are going to submit a statement, and unsure what to say it's sometimes helpful to consider the impacts the change will have and whether they are positive or negative. some thoughts below:
23/00611/FB Malago opening up application
• Mature trees frequently make good habitat and can be unusual in urban areas
• Replacement trees will be smaller and take time to mature
• All the replacement trees are off site
• Is the replacement of the river in a channel with no tree cover around it for birds and insects an improvement?
• How do you feel about the green space when you pass through it, and how will the loss of trees affect the local wildlife?
