Android has conquered the world thanks to its flexibility, but today too much openness poses a danger to users. We are calling on Google to limit uncontrolled access to the operating system source code (AOSP) and to further tighten the guidelines for developers and smartphone manufacturers. Complete openness is leading to three serious problems:

➤ Uncontrolled fragmentation: Too many modified versions of Android slow down crucial security updates. 

➤ Malware risks: Third-party app stores and sideloading expose less experienced users to scams and viruses. 

➤ Poor user experience: Aggressive customizations by manufacturers weigh down devices and reduce their longevity. We don't want to eliminate freedom of choice, but we are calling for stricter central oversight. 

By signing this petition, we are calling on Google to "lock down" key components of Android, ensuring a more secure, cohesive, stable, and protected operating system for everyone, modeled after the most secure operating systems.
