Saving 3.8billion in forecast won't fix the problem of existing electricity rate

Today's announcement of the '' suspension'' of the Large Renewable Procurement process (LRP II) won't do one thing to help reduce the electricity rates. The 8% HST band-aid announced in the Throne Speech did not work so today the Minister of Energy is trying another political solution that does not address the real problem. Furthermore, how convenient to use the independent IESO report to do so! The government spins it as a 3.8 billion saving in electricity costs but the fine print is that, it is from their 2013 Long Term Energy Plan forecast, NOT SPENDING. Minister Thibeault now admits that we have ''a robust supply of electricity over the coming decade to meet projected demand''. The Amherst Island project is not needed but still , Algonquin Power will be getting $500M. over the next 20years!
