I can't believe we've passed two years in our fight to save a small facility for our disabled loved ones. I never thought the elected officials of Ontario could be so callous. Our calls go unreturned. Emails are responded to with vague form letters. I expected better.
We can't get our story on TV. Decisions have been made that this wasn't worthy of their coverage. Believe me when I tell you that I have contacted EVERY media outlet that I am aware of in Canada. I don't understand how an estimated 13% of the population isn't worthy of their attention.
DO NOT WAIT. YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR NEWS OUTLETS TO REPORT WHAT IS BEING DONE TO DISABLED CANADIANS !!!
Meanwhile, another season passes that could be enjoyed by citizens with few recreational options. Our disabled become more debilitated as time passes. Some die. The disabled service member that I have cared for the last 17+ years is one of them. Kirk's health is in serious decline and hospitalisations are more frequent. I fear that I won't be able to tell him that our righteous fight has ever been resolved.
Four non-profits have banded together in an effort to help reopen Wilderness Discovery. They can do nothing until the Ministry Of Infrastructure submits a lease that allows the coalition to move forward. The Minister is Bob Chiarelli.

You should ask him why a ONE DOLLAR annual lease for our disabled isn't the right thing to do, right away.
I know YOU care. You have shown me that for over two years. Please, spread the news TO THE NEWS. They don't seem to feel that this is important. At least, not important ENOUGH. Tell them that they're mistaken before more time, and more of YOUR loved ones, pass.
Thank you,
Kevin Johnson
