An unusual thing happened 17 years ago today. My wife Lorie had been doing nursing care for a disabled Navy veteran for a little over 10 years and he had come to the point that he needed 24-hour care. We decided to open our home to him and provide that 24-hour care. What has followed has been an unqualified success story that has enriched all of our lives.
