Infrastructure Ontario has not backed down. They intend to sell YOUR land on Lake Shebandowan out from under our disabled children, veterans, seniors, and families by Spring of 2016, if not sooner. Premier Kathleen Wynne, and MPPs Bill Mauro and Michael Gravelle were presented with your petition, nearly 700 pages, on June 15th, 2015. It states to designate YOUR land for protected status. NOT to be sold! The Legislative Assembly Of Ontario is back in session. They were asked to protect your land before summer recess. They did not. Week One is in the books...NOTHING! They can't be allowed to put this off any longer. Continue to LIKE and SHARE our Facebook page. It is everyone's home for the latest updates. Use it to help spread the word across social media. He is the Policy Officer for Ontario's Representative in Washington, D.C., Monique Smith. We discussed a full range of issues regarding this dilemma. I asked if he had a pipeline to decision makers in Ontario, from Kathleen Wynne on down. He said he did and assured me that he would pass our information to the proper departments. So, I sent him as much pertinent information that we've compiled over the last nine months of this campaign as I could assemble. Others in Thunder Bay are in the process of obtaining public information which might answer some long-standing questions, as well. If you are a member of the media, or know people that are, you can feel free asking government officials about the Crown land on Lake Shebandowan knowing that you can find information from different government departments very soon. In fact, the media should provide much more coverage to this issue. The Ontario government states that "one in seven people in Ontario have a disability. Over the next 20 years, that number will rise as the population ages". The Ontario government has now been as fully informed of your concerns, your demands, and your experiences about your Crown land as currently possible. If they do not ACT, they cannot claim unawareness. If they do not INVESTIGATE this matter, they do so with the knowledge that you know they are ignoring responsible oversight and are ambivalent to how you demand to be represented on this topic and how your assets are managed. Complacency is unacceptable. You need to press ALL MPPs to bring this to a vote. You have the right to know which MPPs and/or which party cares enough about our disabled citizens to move this. Some MPPs don't bring major issues to the floor, perhaps yours. Urge YOUR MPP to do the decent thing and move this forward for disabled citizens from ALL ridings. Everyone has kicked this can down the road all year. No more! You get ONE CHANCE to solve this PERMANENTLY. Not for 10 years or 20 years. Solve this for generations to come. Your donations of dollars, time, sweat, and talent built this. You own your legacy. Fight to save it! Save Wilderness Discovery Resort For The Disabled. As always, thank you and bless you.
