For the children, veterans, seniors, and their families and caregivers that make up our vital disability community, we are taking the next big step in our fight to save "The Ramp Camp".
We were asked early and often. Why don't you start a crowdfunding campaign? Our response? We don't want to waste our efforts raising money to buy a parcel of land the people of Ontario already own, plus Handicapped Action Group, Inc.(HAGI) had no interest in saving the camp and had mismanaged it to this crisis point. Why give them money if they've proven how poorly they handle it?
We petitioned Premier Wynne and MPPs Mauro & Gravelle to freeze your public asset and postpone the August 31st deadline. They did not, and have refused public comment or action.Your crown land should not be sold while the Legislative Assembly isn't even in session to debate it. They may not be able to sell it legally at all.
Time's up! They don't respond to the words of the public. Maybe they'll respond to the word of law. I have tried to find pro bono representation for our cause without success. We will need to pay for it. So, reluctantly, we now ask for your donations to bring our case to court.
Please follow the links and give whatever you can. We've shown everyone our strength in numbers. Let's do it again. Our disabled citizens never give up despite difficult challenges. WE WON'T GIVE UP ON THEM! Thank you so very much.
P.S. Keep LIKING and SHARING our Facebook page to keep spreading our cause and to receive frequent updates.
