This petition is to support TECO Energy acquiring New Mexico Gas Company.

TECO Energy (TECO) has been in the gas service business over 115 years.  It has a proven record of excellent customer service, reliability and reasonable rates.  TECO will leverage operating efficiencies and cut its service rates by $2 million in the first year after acquisition and $4 million thereafter until at least 2018.

In addition, TECO’s Florida based Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) business experience, combined with New Mexico’s abundant energy portfolio, creates the perfect opportunity for TECO to replicate its compressed NGV business in New Mexico.  This could provide new economic development opportunities for our state.
