I apologize for my absence this past week, and I thank you all for your continuing to make a HUGE difference one signature, share, post, email, and text at a time. I hope you will join me in the next chapter of my journey to bring awareness and overdue legal rights to our furry companions. I have been working on several projects to drive our petition forward and bolster responsiveness from government officials. Here’s what’s coming:
A printable letter to President Joe Biden, NJ Governor Phil Murphy, and local government officials! I will post the letter in an upcoming (soon!) Update and on Kano’s website (https://sites.google.com/view/www-keepkanohome-com/home). You will be able to handwrite the addressee before printing and mailing it to President Joe Biden, NJ Governor Phil Murphy, and your local government officials. Together, we will be their voice, and we WILL be heard!
Our petition as a social media profile picture designed by Christina from Change.org! I will post the picture and directions on how to best utilize it on the next Update. We are asking our supports to please change all of your social media profile pictures (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc.) to this image, in order to show our unity and support for the implementation of Kano’s Law. Together, we will be their face, and we WILL be seen!
A video message directed to the President! We will be declaring and demanding President Biden to recognize Pets are Family, NOT Property and sign into legislation Kano’s Law. I will post the video on TikTok (@landonaxel), Kano’s Instagram page (@keepkanohome), and in an Update sometime next week. We encourage you not just to post the video on your various social medias, but to contribute! Please add or “stitch” yourself, family, friends, etc., to the video saying: “I know- Pets are Family, Not Property.” The more people we can get to participate, the better! Include your fur-babies, grand-pups, etc.! More information will be included when the video posts, but we ask that you please follow the format of the video, so that we have uniformity when declaring support for Kano’s Law and our petition. Together, we will be the strength that remains steadfast in our mission, and we WILL be triumphant in having Kano’s Law signed into law to end the unjust legal status of companion animals as property.
