The Executive Committee of the Kankakee County Board unanimously voted to send our request to the full County Board to place the mental health referendum on the April 4, 2023, ballot! However, we have been asked to get the same number of signatures on our advisory petition as we would have needed to have gotten it on the ballot as a citizen initiative to demonstrate a high level of citizen support for the 1/4 cent mental health tax. We need at least 3,000 signatures from Kankakee County residents by January 10, 2023. We already have almost 300.
