  •    Our son, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend, is serving 40 years for a non-violent cannabis crime.
In the mid-nineties, while struggling with drug addiction, Edwin associated himself with marijuana dealers to pay back an incurred drug debt.
After a DEA investigation  (and the arrest of the marijuana dealers) Edwin was charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana, despite not being found with any drugs, guns, or money.
Confident of his innocence, Edwin proceeded to trial, unaware that he would receive 40 years. The evidence used against him was the HEARSAY testimony of the cooperating drug dealers, who were seeking a lower sentence from the prosecution.
Edwin has spent 27 years in prison. This is more than enough time for a marijuana crime.
While in prison, Edwin became a devoted Christian, completed a Master's degree in counseling, and is now working toward his Doctorate degree. He is also learning to become a writer. Above all of these accomplishments,  Edwin also serves as a mentor to others. Even prison officials have noted and praised his rehabilitative efforts.
We all love Edwin very much. He's not a rapist, a terrorist, or a violent individual.  Please help us set him free. Ask President Joseph Biden to grant him clemency. TWENTY FIVE years in prison for a non-violent cannabis crime is more than enough.

I couldn't agree more Edwin Rubis. Why you are still in prison is beyond all Reason and Justice. x24-years already for Cannabis, no victims, no weapons, no actual "product", just a conspiracy, Texas War On Drugs in the 90s, and here we have life-in-prison, not eligible for release until 2033? When will the nightmare end? When we do the right thing, and amend the draconian, non-sense and harm (on so many levels, the inmate, his family and all their futuresm even our larger sociey in its quest for "justice"!) being done to imprisoning folks for LIFE for a victimless, largely fully legal plant. It's insane that we as a society can't differentiate true criminals from those not. It's almost like a Russian citizens simply holding-up a sign in Moscow's Red Square that says "No War in Ukraine" and then being immediately arrested and given a x15-year sentence for "crimes against the state". This barbarous insanity MUST END NOW! FREE EDWIN RUBIS and others like him. NOW!
