The Reapportionment Act of 1929 (the Act) was passed by a partisan Congress with the sole intention of protecting Republican interests and control of the Federal Government.

Since its passing, the Act has caused the disenfranchisement of California voters, among others, by diluting their power at the ballot box .

Currently, the California vote is worth one-third what an average American vote is worth. It is trending to become even less effective, while a voter in low-population states have as much as three-and-a-half times that power, if not more. 

While the Electoral College is a Constitutionally mandated institution and may not be so easily eliminated, by eliminating reapportionment, its effects have been grossly exaggerated.

We, the undersigned, ask that our state's government please look into what it can do to restore full suffrage to the citizens of the Republic of California in the quickest and most effective manner possible. Restore fairness to Federal elections.
