Morrisville needs Wake County public schools, not a charter!

Morrisville needs Wake County public schools, not a charter!
The Issue
The residents of Morrisville request that the Kaleidoscope Charter not be located in Morrisville. Morrisville is a small town with a population of close to 29,000 and we are the only town without a Wake County public middle or high school. By law, this charter will be open to anybody in North Carolina and will not serve the children of Morrisville alone. The kids of this town need a high school and middle school that is dedicated to them. The town has adopted a resolution to specifically get us a Wake County public middle/high school . Land in Morrisville is scarce and expensive. We do not want to make it any harder for the Wake County Public school system to acquire the land they need for a school with another potential competitor. This school would have been great if we already had the public schools we need and traffic problems were not a big issue in this small town. Charter schools are lottery based and they are no replacement for Wake County public schools. Today our kids are shipped to schools that are much further than what would be considered normal. Kaleidoscope charter could as well be located else where and still provide the opportunities for the children here without taking away a piece of land and the opportunity for us to have a Wake County public middle/high school that we desperately need.
