Hi K9 Mattie supporters! It breaks my heart to look into our Mattie’s beautiful eyes in this photo and know that she is right now living in sadness somewhere far from home.

To keep you all as informed as possible, Séamus would like to discuss some of our general strategy to Bring K9 Mattie Home: Hello friends. It all comes down to one thing – WE JUST WANT OUR DOG BACK. That’s all we want out of this. That’s it. Let MSA Security / Perella Weinberg Partners keep their millions and billions. But Mattie has formed deep attachments to me and everyone in my family, just as all of us have bonded with her. So this is our message to PWP / MSA: PLEASE GIVE US OUR DOG BACK.

According to both our personal experience and extensive investigative research, Perella Weinberg’s MSA Security habitually engages in unethical activity against their dogs and employees and shrouds this activity in secrecy. We have found that if those with legitimate grievances come to them privately to engage in a civil discourse about an issue, it is precisely then that the company is most heavy-handed with threats and retaliation.

Only bits and pieces, such as our story, have made it out publicly. While our story has gained some traction, there are so many of my brother handlers with similar heartbreaks who do not have a voice. Keeping all this secret leads to more abuse taking place. Thus it is necessary for us to continue publicly shedding as much light as possible on this toxic corporate culture in order that real change might occur. By doing so, not only will we bring Mattie home but we will prevent other families from suffering in a similar manner in the future. The campaign breaks down into the following components.

INFORMATION. These change.org petition updates are an excellent way of keeping in touch with all of you, but the format is restrictive in the amount of information we can put out at any one time. As such, we will put out regular updates – most likely on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday – for the time being. The updates will share relevant and interesting content so that all of you are informed about what’s going on.

There are others who are actively working to expose the wrongdoing of this company with the goal of making things right, and we will put out news that they wish to share. For instance, Dr. Karen Iovino exposed the MSA scandal of K9’s being sent overseas to the Middle East to suffer like no dog should. Yes, MSA Security holds the U.S. State Department contract to run the Canine Validation Center (CVC) near Washington, D.C. The company was well aware that they were training K9’s to be sent overseas to be abused, even killed, according to Dr. Iovino.

We also are continuing to reach out to media and elected officials. This part of our campaign is labor intensive and delays are a natural part of the process, so please be patient with progress!

LEGAL. Many of you have suggested this course; we have already investigated it thoroughly and it is the least favorable option for getting Mattie back. The main problem is that even were we to win a suit, it would be years until it would be resolved, and Mattie is already a senior dog. In any case, Mattie is the legal property of MSA; everyone recognizes this. Of course in real life she and I are a bonded pair and she is our family dog, but the law is its own entity and does not always match up with real life. The law considers a dog to be property no different than furniture or office equipment. The crux of our struggle is moral, not legal.

WAYS TO HELP

1) THE FUNDRAISER (links below). Our fundraiser is the single strongest effort going on at this time. We are offering to buy her back from the company for their stated price of what it cost to train Mattie, along with any associated costs. Every penny goes to Mattie. Our goal of $22,500 is actually far less than what we fear we will need, because MSA has a habit of legally turning over the dogs to their handlers when the dogs are physically broken down. All medical expenses have to be born by the handler’s family. Maybe it’s not right, but that’s how they work.

2) CONTACTING THE COMPANY. There is nothing so powerful as letting the corporate bosses know that you know what they’re up to, that they cannot hide in the shadows. Their hope was that Mattie would be forgotten – you let them know that she’s not!

3) SPREAD THE WORD! Our story is not nearly as well known as it could or should be. While we are putting our full effort into contacting animal welfare groups, media, and elected officials, it’s only just me and my wife in our spare time outside of our many life responsibilities. But a great many of you have expressed a desire to help more – we thank you so much! If you would reach out to animal groups, share what you think of 'Perella Weinberg Partners' and 'MSA Security' on Google Reviews, or simply tell your friends and family, I believe the positive effect would end up being exponential.

The Perella Weinberg people who own MSA keep themselves relatively insulated; they are billionaires after all. So while we don't have their direct numbers, here are the emails of the fellas who oversee MSA:
