The Canada Commercial Seal Hunt is not only a dying-industry, but it is also taking much destruction and impacts due to markets globally, for seal products, deminishing at a rapid rate --- and that such awareness and collapse have established bans and prohibits of imports/exports of such products all around the world. According to much information and sources, Canada's leading and largest partners of trade (United States & Europe) have already backed away and stopped their ties to the seal industry and its products --- this here should be an imperative statement and view that Canada should follow suit and also abandon this industry instead of standing alone, funding and attempting to revive, what some of the world has already come to observe it as, a cruel and inhumane act against innocent life. It has been said that tens of millions of tax-payers dollars go towards the funding of such actions, as the commercial seal hunt -- and we believe that the Canadian Government should in fact, use such financial distributions to finding a more humane and possible solution that can truly be of benefit to all parties involved, such as a Federal Sealing Industry Buyout. What a positive and strategic plan of action this would be on the Canadian Government's part -- not only ending the commercial This positive and strategic plan of action, would not only end the commercial seal hunt within Canada, but to also contribute and compensate those individuals whom are employed in this industry -- providing monies for loss wages, and investments that individuals have put towards this industry, not to mention costing tax-payers less than the large amounts that goes towards subsidies for the continuation of this seal hunt. With Sealers and Industry feeling the hits and outcomes due to much awareness being brought to light, and the bans/prohibits of seal products which is declining the market -- in time will truly be effected, when there is no longer a market or demand for such an industry - including loss of jobs, income losses, and so much more -- wouldn't this be the time now that such a solution as a buyout be in the best interest before this solution is no longer on the table.
