Hi my name is Kara, I live in Ontario Canada. In September of 2015 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis or ms for short form, multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disorder, in the central nervous system. It is caused by the destruction of the myelin coating covering our nerve fibers. Multiple Sclerosis has many different symptons and effects every person different. There are many different medications that we need on a daily basis. Canada has the highest rate of ms in the world .. and is the hardest place to get any form of help. Alot of people like myself can no longer work and need help financially. Unfortunately in Canada of you have a spouse who works you basically have no way of getting any form of help .. disability or odsp is income based which needs to change for people like me and all the other people who are sick with this horrible disease that has no cure . I have to take medication every day and week to try and keep my immune system from attacking my own body .. and do to my ms symptons, I will never be able to work again. But can not find a way to qualify for any form of government help . This needs to change, people with multiple sclerosis did not ask for this, we have bills to pay, lots of medication costs, family's to support and so much more. And to be told because we are sick and have one person who works we do not qualify is absolutely horrible and not fair . What happens when our spouse has to take a day off, for our appointments ?? Then we fight to pay bills that's what, never mind fighting to have enough money to eat . I now challenge you as our leaders to change this!!!!! I did not ask to be sick, or not be able to work !!! Neither did anyone else with this horrible disease with no cure . I deserve to be able to still have money to help my family with bills, pay my own bills, grocerys and to cover my medical needs and have the proper care and diet for my needs . With the way it is now this will never happen !!!! Time to wake up and stand up as a whole to make the changes needed ☺ please take the time to sign this as it is very important for me and all the others fighting this horrible disease .. we burden our families enough, being able to not be a financial burden to our families will be huge In our over all health . As one of our viggest causes of symptons is stress. Also this will create less demands on our medical professionals, less hospital stays, less medical appointments etc if we could afford to have proper food , care and exercise etc please please help me and everyone else fighting this disease thank you !!!!!!
