Not a happy anniversary in any sense. Two years ago today I was phoned by the Jewish Chronicle on my own private phone number (which I have no idea how they obtained!) to tell me I had been suspended for 'antisemitic media posts' although the journalist concerned failed to substantiate this claim with any evidence and the letter from the Labour Party almost a week later made no mention of antisemitism, merely that 'there were allegations that may bring the party into disrepute.' The same catch-all that got Marc Wadsworth suspended after a lifetime of fighting racism. I have no idea why the process has taken so long, particularly as Ann Black (the head of disputes at the time), told me in October last year that she had seen no evidence to justify the sanction against me and she expected me to have the suspension lifted at the following NEC meeting. Since then I have heard nothing.
