I am writing this petition to bring attention to a grave issue that has deeply affected my friends and the local community of Southwest Harbor. It is with great concern and urgency that I call for the removal of a police officer from our force due to his alleged involvement in harassment, sexual and physical assault, as well as stalking.

As a former resident of Machias, Maine, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact this officer's actions have had on individuals who trusted him to protect and serve.  By signing this petition, we can collectively demand action from the relevant authorities to address these serious allegations.

One such victim is my friend who bravely came forward about her traumatic experience with this officer. Her story is not an isolated incident but rather indicative of a pattern of abuse allegedly perpetrated by this individual against multiple members of our community. 

It is crucial to emphasize that we are not making baseless accusations; there have been legal proceedings regarding these allegations against the officer in question. Rightfully, we expect our voices of concern to be heard.

It is important for law enforcement agencies to demonstrate their commitment towards maintaining public trust. Allowing an officer facing such serious allegations to remain on duty undermines public confidence in our police force.

We believe that no one should fear those who are sworn to protect them or live under constant threat from those entrusted with upholding justice. Our community deserves officers who prioritize safety above all else and treat every individual with dignity and respect.
