Justice for Tigray — Campaign Update: Our Voices Are Reaching Decision-Makers
Dear supporters,
Thank you to the more than 12,800 people who have stood with Justice for Tigray. Every signature strengthens our collective call for justice, accountability, civilian protection, and lasting peace.
We are using this platform not only to collect signatures, but also to raise awareness about the situation in Tigray and ensure that the growing risk of renewed conflict receives international attention.
With escalating hostility and continuing concerns about the implementation of the Pretoria Cessation of Hostilities Agreement, we believe the international community must pay close attention to developments in Tigray and act to protect civilians before another devastating conflict occurs.
The people of Tigray have already endured enormous suffering. We cannot wait until another humanitarian catastrophe begins before demanding action. Prevention must come first.
As part of the next phase of this campaign, we have begun formally contacting key U.S. and international officials and organizations. Our outreach has included U.S. Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, Representative Marilyn Strickland, the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention, multiple African Union offices, the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International USA.
Our communications call attention to the escalation of hostility, military tensions, economic and budgetary pressure affecting Tigray, disruptions affecting essential supplies, unresolved provisions of the Pretoria Agreement, the vulnerability of internally displaced people, and the potentially catastrophic consequences of another major war.
We are asking the international community to:
Pay immediate attention to the escalating hostility in and around Tigray.
Prioritize the protection of civilians and internally displaced people.
Support urgent preventive diplomacy and de-escalation.
Strengthen independent monitoring of developments on the ground.
Protect humanitarian access and the movement of essential civilian supplies.
Press for full and peaceful implementation of the Pretoria Agreement.
Our purpose is clear: to raise awareness, sound the alarm before another tragedy occurs, and encourage peaceful international intervention that protects civilians and prevents another devastating war.
Your signatures have allowed us to approach policymakers and international institutions not simply as individuals, but as a campaign backed by more than 12,800 people demanding that the world pay attention.
Please continue sharing this petition with your families, friends, communities, elected representatives, journalists, human-rights organizations, and others who can help amplify this message.
We will continue using this platform to keep you informed, document our advocacy efforts, and mobilize international attention as the situation develops.
The warning signs must not be ignored. The international community must pay attention to the escalating hostility and act now to protect civilians and preserve peace.
Thank you for continuing to stand with the people of Tigray.
