More than 12,800 people from around the world have now joined this movement and raised their voices for justice in Tigray. What began as a petition has grown into a community of people who refuse to remain silent in the face of mass atrocities, displacement, ethnic targeting, and continued threats against innocent civilians. We are deeply grateful to every supporter who signed, shared, and stood with the people of Tigray during one of the darkest periods in our history.
Today, we want you to know that this movement is entering its next phase. As those responsible for past atrocities continue to evade meaningful accountability, dangerous rhetoric, mobilization, and warning signs of renewed violence are once again emerging. Many fear that the failure to hold perpetrators accountable has only emboldened extremist actors who are preparing the ground for yet another cycle of atrocities against the people of Tigray. We cannot afford to ignore these warning signs.
In response, we are taking additional steps to pursue accountability and strengthen international awareness. This includes working toward evidence-based legal and policy actions, engaging human rights advocates and legal experts, and exploring avenues to support targeted sanctions and other accountability mechanisms against individuals linked to serious human rights abuses. We are also expanding our awareness efforts through media, public advocacy, and community engagement to ensure the voices of victims and survivors are not forgotten.
Justice is often slow, but silence only empowers impunity. Your continued support gives strength to this effort and reminds the world that the people of Tigray are not alone. In the weeks ahead, we will share more opportunities for supporters to participate directly in advocacy, awareness campaigns, and coordinated action. Together, we will continue to push forward—with determination, truth, and the belief that accountability and lasting peace must never be abandoned.
