What Happened
In Palembang, Indonesia, a young elementary school student (SD) returned home from school with severe redness, bruising, and swelling around her eyes.
Her mother was shocked to see that her daughter’s blood vessels had burst, leaving visible red marks and lesions on her face.

According to the family’s account, the student revealed that her teacher had struck her multiple times with a ringed hand, hitting her around the eyes.
The teacher allegedly threatened the child and her family, warning them not to tell anyone or involve the police.

Despite this intimidation, the family bravely filed a police report and sought medical attention.
Doctors confirmed that the child’s eyes showed signs of trauma and hemorrhage consistent with blunt-force impact.

Public Reaction and Investigation
The story spread widely across social media in Indonesia over the past few days, sparking outrage and grief nationwide.
People from all walks of life have condemned the act and demanded justice for the victim.

In response to the public outcry, Palembang Mayor Harnojoyo personally visited the victim’s family, offering support and promising that the case would be handled transparently.
The Palembang Education Office and the Palembang Police (Polrestabes Palembang) have launched formal investigations into the incident.
