I went by the building tonight. The signs are down. The place is being stripped out. Sloth World will never open. It’s surreal to see it disappearing piece by piece — like they’re trying to erase it from the landscape as quietly as possible. Someone is still paying people to take everything down, even now. And that’s what stays with me. Just because the façade is gone doesn’t mean the horror behind it disappears. Just because the signs came down doesn’t mean the story ends. And it definitely doesn’t mean we forget how much worse this could have been if they had opened their doors to the public. We owe it to the 55 who didn’t make it — and to the survivors still fighting — to make sure this isn’t erased, ignored, or forgotten. Not now. Not ever.
