💜 PETITION UPDATE: WE’RE MOVING FORWARD

Hey everyone, I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on Shawn Lee Fortune’s case and the petition.

First, THANK YOU to everyone who has signed, shared, checked on me, prayed for us, or simply kept Shawn’s name in your thoughts. I truly appreciate every bit of support. ❤️

There has been some movement.

I officially filed my complaint with the Independent Citizen Police Review Board (CPRB) in Pittsburgh, and I just received an official letter confirming that a Preliminary Inquiry has been opened into my complaint.

That is an important step because it means the complaint is now moving through the CPRB process and the concerns I raised are being reviewed.

The CPRB also offered mediation between me and the officer involved. After reading through the process, I decided not to participate in mediation at this time. My goal is to have the concerns and unanswered questions in my complaint properly reviewed through the investigative process rather than trying to resolve everything through a private mediation.

The investigator is handling the inquiry and has been in contact with me. She also mailed me the formal notice explaining the mediation option and next steps.

I'm also still waiting for answers to the questions that were forwarded to the Pittsburgh Homicide Commander regarding Shawn's case, including questions surrounding the investigation and Shawn's cellphone, which police confirmed is still being held as evidence under PR#25-0589.

For those who have been following this from the beginning, you know I have been asking questions because there are still things about Shawn's death and the handling of the investigation that I need answers to.

I'm not saying that I already know what every answer is.

I'm saying I deserve the opportunity to get those answers.

And Shawn deserves to have his case taken seriously.

So for now, I'm continuing to follow every available avenue, document everything, and let the appropriate processes do their work.

The petition is still active, and I would really appreciate it if you would continue to SIGN, SHARE, and KEEP SHAWN'S NAME OUT THERE. Every signature and every share helps keep his story visible.

We haven't stopped.

And we won't.
