Petition updateJustice for Shawn Fortune: Investigate His Death at Pittsburgh Job Corps🚨 Petition Update – Connecting the Dots 🚨

Family, I need you to pause and look at what’s happening around us.

We are still fighting for justice for my son, Shawn Lee Fortune, who died at Pittsburgh Job Corps under circumstances that scream negligence and cover-up. I’ve filed FOIA requests for documents that could help expose what really happened, and the Department of Labor promised delivery by October 4th. But now, with Trump threatening a government shutdown and mass federal firings, those records could be delayed or buried altogether.

That’s not coincidence — that’s strategy. Every delay, every bounced email, every lawyer turning me away while admitting there are “discrepancies,” is part of a bigger pattern.

📌 Across the United States, we’re watching a disturbing trend:

Black youth and vulnerable youth being reported as “overdoses,” hangings, or accidents that don’t add up.

Policies like no-cellphone rules in schools making it harder for children to protect themselves or show the truth.

Institutional reshuffling — people fired, silenced, or replaced — so that integrity is wiped out before anyone can hold systems accountable.

They want us to believe these are isolated tragedies. But the dots are connecting. It’s systemic. It’s organized. And it’s targeting the most vulnerable among us while distracting the rest with media noise.

Remember how the public came together to cancel Disney subscriptions or to protect free speech for Jimmy Fallon? That collective power WORKED. Now we need that same urgency for human rights, civil rights, and justice. If we don’t raise our voices now, stories like Shawn’s will keep happening until they become “normal.”

This is bigger than one case, but Shawn’s story is proof of what’s at stake. He had a future, a legacy, and a life stolen too soon. My fight is not just for him — it’s for every family that could face this same nightmare.
