Hey everyone,

Thank you for continuing to sign and share the petition for justice for Shanquella Robinson.

There is another important update in the civil case filed by Shanquella’s mother, Sallamondra Robinson, individually and as personal representative of Shanquella’s estate.

The case is still active in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The federal claims involving the FBI and State Department were previously dismissed, but the remaining civil claims against the individual defendants are still being fought in state court. Public reporting has also confirmed that the case has continued through disputes over whether the case should proceed in the U.S. or Mexico.

The newest filings show that the defendants are now fighting the case through procedural motions.

E’Mani Green, formerly known as Daejhanae Jackson, is asking the court to dismiss the case against her, arguing issues with service of process, insufficient process, personal jurisdiction, and failure to state a claim. Her filing says she moved to Connecticut in December 2022 and claims she was not properly served at the North Carolina address used in the case.

However, this is important: according to her own timeline, she claims she moved to Connecticut in December 2022, which was after Shanquella died in October 2022. That matters because Shanquella was a North Carolina resident, her mother and estate are in North Carolina, and the complaint alleges that the false “alcohol poisoning” story was brought back to Shanquella’s family in North Carolina.

Khalil Cooke has also filed a motion asking the court to stay the case, arguing that Mexico is the more appropriate forum because Shanquella died in Cabo and because witnesses such as medical personnel, hotel staff, law enforcement, and the coroner’s office may be located there. But a North Carolina court cannot simply transfer this case to Mexico like it is another U.S. courthouse. Cooke is asking for a stay, meaning he wants the North Carolina case paused.

That raises serious fairness questions. If Mexico’s civil deadline may already be expired or difficult to pursue, then Mexico may not be a realistic or fair forum for Shanquella’s mother to seek justice.

The next major hearing date is May 13, 2026, when the court is expected to hear major defense motions, including E’Mani Green’s motion to dismiss and Khalil Cooke’s motion to stay.

Please keep sharing this petition. Shanquella’s family is still fighting, and public awareness still matters.
