Happy Wednesday. We are almost at 36,000 signatures. Good Job everyone. Keep sharing the petition.

Well, I have some good news. For those that can't participate in the march. You can email your letter to MYMOCS@yahoo.com, and it will be mailed to Mexico with the other letters, in a pink envelope. So, now everyone can participate in the event.

Also, please encourage others to email their letters to MYMOCS@YAHOO.COM too. The goal is to mail 1,000 letters on February 18, 2023. Click here for the event page.

Although this case is out of Mayor Viola Lyle's Jurisdiction, she can still use her status, and platforms to acknowledge what happened to a citizen of Charlotte, North Carolina. However, from what I've seen, Mayor Lyle has addressed and given condolences to the family of Tyre Nichols but not of Shanquella Robinson. Now, I'm happy that she addressed what happened to Tyre Nichols because that's a heartbreaking case of police brutality, and no-one deserves to be treated in such an inhumane way.  However, I'd also like her to acknowledge the murder of Shanquella Robinson and give condolences to her family as well. How can she ignore a case that has received worldwide attention? If she uses her platform, that will help to keep Shanquellas case alive by spreading awareness, and it will let the higher ups know that the local officials are wanting answers too.

The mayor's email address is mayor@charlottenc.gov and her phone number is 704.336.2241.  Call and ask why she hasn't acknowledged the murder of Shanquella Robinson or expressed her condolences to the family, who are residents of her jurisdiction.

Secondly, although Governor Cooper has spoken out about Shanquella Robinson, it was only a brief statement as part of a larger conversation. Since he's the Governor of North Carolina, he has way more power and influence than the Mayor. And that power/influence will garner the attention of the media, and in turn keep her name alive. Also, it will put pressure on the FBI and the DOJ. Basically, he should have spoken on this case more than once and at more length. Shanqulla deserves more than just a brief statement and then nothing.

Here is the contact information for Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina Phone Number: (919) 814-2000
Email: rac3rd@gmail.com

Again, while I appreciate his acknowledgment of the case and what happened to Shanquella, I expected more from him given his status/influence. Email him to apply pressure.

Ultimately, the more government officials we have speaking out, the better because they have more influence than the average Joe.

I've already called and emailed. If you get a voicemail, leave a voicemail.

Thanks, and have a blessed day
