We, the concerned students, citizens, and well-wishers of Odisha and India, are deeply shocked and anguished by the tragic and untimely death of Satyasarthi Das (Raj), a first-year B.Tech student from Gandhi Engineering College, Badaraghunathpur, Bhubaneswar. Satyasarthi, a young boy from Bhadrak with dreams of building his future through education, was found dead inside the college premises under deeply suspicious circumstances.

According to protesting students and members of Odisha Chhatra Sangathan, there are serious allegations of the involvement of college authorities and mental harassment that may have directly contributed to Satyasarthi’s death. The possibility that a student’s life was lost due to institutional negligence and harassment cannot and must not be ignored.

No student should ever feel unsafe inside an educational institution. No family should ever lose a child because of torture, humiliation, or mishandling by authorities.

🕯️ We demand Justice for Satyasarthi Das.

We urge the Odisha State Government, Education Department, Higher Education Minister, Police Administration, and all concerned authorities to:

1️⃣ Order an impartial and time-bound investigation into the circumstances leading to Satyasarthi’s death, with full accountability for everyone involved.

2️⃣ Arrest and take strict legal action against the teacher(s) and others accused of mental harassment and any individuals responsible for the incident.

3️⃣ Provide adequate financial compensation to the grieving family of Satyasarthi Das.

4️⃣ Ensure that strict anti-harassment mechanisms are enforced in all colleges so that such tragedies never recur in the future.

⚠️ The life of a student should not be sacrificed due to negligence, pressure, torture, and exploitation.

Satyasarthi’s dreams were snatched away forever — but we will not allow his voice to be silenced.
