Your signature on our change.org petition helped us with step 1 of the criminal court proceedings. The LA County's District Attorney's Office saw how much support there is for maintaining a felony charge and did not offer a plea deal. This does not mean a plea deal cannot be offered at a later time. Additionally, the judge saw the evidence and agreed that there is sufficient evidence to maintain a felony charge against Ms. Julie Haq. At the time of the impact, it is alleged that she was driving 89 mph (on a rainy night on a street that had a 30 mph speed limit), intoxicated, and did not attempt to stop.

While this is a small victory on the difficult road ahead, we want to express our gratitude for your support. Rodger meant so much to so many of us, and he would be proud of our efforts in seeking justice.
