JUSTICE FOR QUINTANNI: Demand Province-Wide CAS Accountability and Child Safety Reform
JUSTICE FOR QUINTANNI: Demand Province-Wide CAS Accountability and Child Safety Reform
The Issue
JUSTICE FOR QUINTANNI: PROTECT CHILDREN AND DEMAND CHANGE
The death of three-year-old Quintanni has raised urgent questions about child safety, supervision, emergency response, and accountability within Ontario's child welfare system.
We believe his memory should inspire meaningful action to help prevent another tragedy.
This petition calls on the Government of Ontario to launch an independent, province-wide review of child-safety practices across Children's Aid Societies (CAS), using the circumstances surrounding Quintanni's death as an important reason to examine whether existing safeguards are adequate.
WE CALL ON THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO TO:
1. Independently review child-safety policies, supervision, staffing, emergency response, and incident reporting across Ontario CAS agencies.
2. Examine whether outstanding questions about the circumstances surrounding Quintanni's death require further independent investigation.
3. Strengthen protections for children in care and children attending CAS facilities.
4. Create safe, accessible ways for children and families to report concerns and seek independent help.
5. Ensure substantiated misconduct and institutional failures lead to appropriate corrective action and accountability.
6. Publish appropriate findings and recommendations while protecting children's privacy and respecting legal restrictions.
7. Require follow-up to ensure that recommended reforms are implemented and effective.
Children's Aid Societies are entrusted with the safety and well-being of vulnerable children. Families must be able to trust that safety concerns will be taken seriously and that failures will be examined fairly and independently.
This campaign is not about assuming every CAS agency is guilty of wrongdoing. It is about demanding stronger safeguards, independent oversight, transparency, and accountability wherever failures are found.
We ask the Government of Ontario to honour Quintanni's memory through meaningful province-wide reform.
NO MORE SILENCE. NO MORE OVERLOOKED SAFETY CONCERNS. EVERY CHILD DESERVES PROTECTION.
Please sign and share this petition to support independent oversight and stronger child-safety protections throughout Ontario.
