As we reported last summer, a Nevada man tortured, dismembered and killed several dogs he admitted to obtaining via Craigslist ads. He even filmed these vile acts so he could watch their suffering over and over. Today, he was convicted of these unimaginable crimes and sentenced to up to 28 years in prison. According to a local news article, one witness said she sold a puppy to Brown through Craigslist for $40. Forty bucks, ironically that is the the same price that Puppy Doe's original owner allegedly sold her for on Craigslist. Help us to STOP more nightmares like these. Since Craigslist (and sites like them) refuse to acknowledge that their lax rules regarding pet ads play a part in these heinous crimes, we must take action to educate the public about never EVER handing off your pet to a stranger you found via an online ad, no matter how 'normal' they may seem.
